Photographing work clothing without making the catalogue wait

A workwear shop doesn't have ten items but hundreds: the same softshell in four colors, the same Hi-Vis in eight sizes. Exactly the kind of range a shoot day can never keep up with — and exactly what this was built for.

Model shot, pack shot and detail shot per item, from a single photo · Reflective stripes, safety labels and embroidery stay exactly as they are · Color variants without reshooting — 2 credits per color · Try six images for free, no account needed

The short answer

Work Clothing Photography: Full Ranges, No Shoot Day

  • Workwear has its own image requirements: buyers want to see the reflection on a Hi-Vis, the pockets and stitching, and the safety certification label — because that's what they're buying on.
  • The real garment gets transferred, not redrawn: logos, reflective stripes and embroidery show up on the model shot exactly as they appear on your photo.
  • A complete item — four images plus all copy — costs 4 credits, about € 1.30. With hundreds of items, that's the difference between "someday" and "online this week".
  • For the business buyer deciding from behind a desk: a clean model shot on a neutral background, plus detail photos of exactly what gets inspected.

Where it goes wrong in practice

Hundreds of items, no idea where to start

If you have to photograph two hundred items, you don't. So supplier photos go online instead — the same images every competitor uses, each in a slightly different style.

The details sell, but they're nowhere to be seen

A tradesman picks based on knee pockets and double stitching, a safety officer on the certification label. Those are detail shots — and they're exactly what's missing, since every extra shot per item doubles the workload across two hundred items.

Every color variant means a new photo shoot

The same work trousers in navy, black, grey and green means shooting four times, steaming four times, editing four times. So only one color ends up online, and buyers just have to trust the rest exists.

One photo per item, the rest is automatic

You photograph the item once — laid flat on a table or on a hanger. From that, you get the complete set a workwear buyer wants to see.

  • Model shot on a neutral background — reflective stripes and embroidery exactly as on your photo, because the garment gets transferred, not invented
  • Detail photos of pockets, stitching and finishing — free crops taken from the model shot
  • A pack shot on white for the catalogue overview and your price list — 1 credit
  • Color variants with one click: the same trousers in navy and black, no new photo needed (2 credits per color)
  • Copy included, in four languages — including material and washing instructions, straight from the scanned label

Why this matters even more for workwear

Workwear is bought professionally, often in bulk and on repeat. Buyers don't compare on vibe, they compare on specs — and on trust. A catalogue where every item has the same clean shot, the same background and the same size info beats a page full of mismatched supplier photos every time. And because each item only costs one photo and ± € 1.30, the entire catalogue can finally go online — not just the bestsellers. For how to apply the same approach more broadly, see photographing clothing for your webshop.

In three steps

  1. Photograph one item. Laid flat on a table or on a hanger, with your phone. Scan the label separately to capture material and washing instructions.
  2. We build the set. Model shot, pack shot, detail photos and copy — in about 90 seconds.
  3. Or connect your webshop. The pipeline automatically picks up items with weak photos and processes them, five at a time.

Frequently asked questions

Do reflective stripes and safety labels stay visible?

Yes. The actual garment gets transferred onto the model — whatever's on your photo shows up on the image. In our final testing, logos, stitching and even the stripe pattern of a folded sweater stayed exactly intact.

Can I show embroidery or a company logo print?

Yes — photograph the item with the print on, and the model will wear it too. For clients who want to preview an embroidery position first: photograph a sample with the embroidery and you'll have a presentation image ready for the quote within two minutes.

Does it also work for safety shoes and accessories?

Yes. For shoes, bags and accessories we automatically create a detail crop — on a full-body shot the product would be too small to sell properly.

What does a catalogue of 200 items cost?

200 items × 4 credits = 800 credits. Two Collection packages (€ 160 for 500 credits each) cover it comfortably — around € 300 for images and copy for your entire range.

Can the model be shown on a construction site or in a healthcare setting?

Yes — after the standard product shot, you can optionally choose a fitting location for a lifestyle shot (5 credits). For the product page itself, we recommend the neutral shot — that's what business buyers actually compare.
